Happy Day!

It won't be long until we celebrate Mothers Day here in Canada.
So, I thought I'd make a little Keepsake Box for my Etsy Shop that any mother would love to receive.
The paper I used is actually from Kaiser Crafts 'Bundle of Joy' - Girls line. I bought it to do layouts of my precious little grandaughter (which I still will!) but I couldn't resist using the pretty and delicate flower print in this collection. It was exactly what I was looking for for this pretty little keepsake box.

The top and front/back were covered in one strip of paper while the sides were covered in a co-ordinating paper.

Even though I used a small G45 matchbook box I was not happy with the way it opened. (or should I say did NOT open). So I cut a piece of clear acrylic to fit over the top opening and attached it with Tim Holtz hinges.I also added a TH label handle to give it that vintage look.
Prima flowers, string pearls and velvet ribbon also give it that soft, feminine touch.

The inside is covered in a pretty vintage style pink paper.

And the bottom is covered in felt.

This little box can be used for keepsakes, trinkets, or memorabilia. It can also be filled with 'promise coupons' - ie: Mom I promise to let you sleep in every Sunday and serve you breakfast in bed, Mom I promise to do all the housework including the laundry at least once a week... you get the idea!
Or fill with moms favourite candy. Not only pretty but functional!
So don't forget Mom or Auntie, Sister or Grandma on Mothers Day or even on her Anniversary, Birthday or Wedding Shower.
HAPPY DAY!
