Of course, first on the list was to make a couple layouts of my new grandson.
But, before I post them I will share with you some much overdue cards that I made in the past couple months at our SU Technique (Geek) Club.
The first one is a cute little minibook made from one 12X12 sheet of cardstock.
Titled 'Just for Fun' it is a bright and happy summer book with each page consisting of a pocket and a stamped beach umbrella. The front band slips off and a pretty little beach scene is attached. The umbrella was stamped then cut and covered with a diamond glaze. Paper was torn and misted for the 'sand' and the whole thing was wrapped in twine. Cute,eh?

I love the next card. The colours are so vibrant and pretty. I have to admit that I'm not a pink and purple kinda gal but this card makes me rethink that - or could it be that I'm getting old and starting to actually like purple. Eeek!
This is a gatefold card closed again with a band - this time the band being the amazing new lace punch from SU. (beware - you need to eat your Wheaties to use it). The pink on the bottom was ran thru the Big Shot using the herringbone embossing plate. The green cs strips were scalloped, inked and layered with pp added to the top. Buttons and paper 'ribbon' finished it off. Another cute and awesome card - I love my 'geek'club!

And now another - told you I was behind!
These next ones are 'standing' cards. Not sure of the 'official' name.
The first one is soooooo pretty - again there's that Pink - but again I love it! Oh no, what is happening to me!
The flower was stamped with versamark then heat embossed with a mixture of pink and irridescent embossing powder - it is so pretty - the photo does not do it justice at all! (yeah I know, I need to brush up on my photography skills - or should I say, lack of.)
The flower in the centre was 5 flowers punched from newsprint pp. They were crumpled and glued together then black flower punches and a sentiment were added to the centre.

The last one is the same concept but is a little butterfly card, Now these are colours and patterns that I would normally pick - love the blue and greens and flowered pp. I never got a photo of the inside but this gives you an idea. It's too pretty and sweet to give away - I'll have to make another!

That's it for the cards - for now - I have 'geek' club again this week.
Now, on to the scrapbook layouts - in my next post.
Unfortunately a girl needs to do her chores!
